Disney day 4: Imagination campus leadership workshop + epcot

Good evening Bulldogs! Today was our second and final workshop day here at Disney World. Once again we started the day with a 7:00 am wake up call to get breakfast before climbing onto the skyliner and heading to EPCOT. Some of us though were excited to start our journey around the world and chose to eat breakfast in some of the countries rather than at the resort. The morning was spent traveling the world as Mrs. Krol had created a scavenger hunt for us to do with our groups where we had to find different photo spots and get a cast member of each country stamp our passports! We had so much fun exploring and learning about all the countries that were in World Showcase. 

Around 2:00 pm we met up with our Imagination Campus leaders Joelle and Lauren where we were split up into two groups once again and began our workshop! The emphasis on today’s lesson was leadership and what does leadership mean and look like to us and why kind of leader are we.  Our instructors led us through many different activities that made us use our teamwork skills that we learned in our previous workshop and focused on the 5 keys of Disney: Safety, Courtesy, Inclusion, Show, and efficiency. Each activity we were able to develop and question our own leadership style which led us to learn what kind of leader we were: democratic, autocratic, servant, and visionary. We learned that you can be a combination of them and was able to hear from Sam who is the leader of Custodial for all of EPCOT (over 800 cast members!). We were able to ask her questions about what it means to her to be leader, why and how she got to the position she is now and how she sees and incorporates the 5 keys through her day everyday at work.  Once our guest speaker was done our last workshop came to an end. 

We learned so much and have so much to bring back to Midland High and we are forever thankful to Disney, Imagination Campus and its team who have helped make this experience one to remember! Once the workshop concluded we were set free to continue to explore the parks! Tomorrow we explore our final park Animal Kingdom! Stay tuned for our last park day!
